Meeting Agenda:
•Chapter Business: We will briefly discuss our recent and upcoming Arkansas NAA events and opportunities for involvement. Please bring and share any ideas you have for future speakers, events and meetings.
•Speaker: Rebecca Riggs, a parent of two children with special needs, including an adult daughter on the autism spectrum, will present for us some strategies on being a strong advocate for your child's needs. She will share ideas for working constructively with schools, teachers and therapists, and provide suggestions for developing an effective Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Rebecca is a longtime advocate for individuals and families with special needs in Arkansas. She has accompanied many parents to IEP meetings over the years, volunteering her time and providing guidance, mentoring and support. We are looking forward to learning from her wisdom and experience!
•Social: Time for socializing and support will be available after the speaker. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided. Childcare not provided, but children are welcome to attend meeting with parents.
